here are some of my initial thoughts:

Work: Google Docs, RememberTheMilk.com, LinkedIn, Clipmarks Add-on, built-in spellcheck

Learn: Wikipedia, Topix, HowStuffWorks.com, Answers Add-on, customize the search bar
maybe instead of Topix or HowStuffWorks we could do something related to culture or language of Marathi like:
http://www.marathimitra.com//showpage?pageid=mm.home

Play: YouTube, Hype Machine, Miro, PicLens add-on, use Add-ons Manager to customize Firefox
maybe http://www.maayboli.com/ instead of Hype Machine - unless you have some Marathi music site suggestions?

Connect: Craig's List, Yelp, Facebook, Me.dium Add-on, subscribe to RSS feeds
maybe instead of Craig's List this site works better:
http://india.indiaclassifieds.com/
and for Yelp it's not quite same but is maybe a better fit:

Hello Mic,

wrt 3.0.2 build, I would like to go for following gettingsarted features:

Work:
1) http://docs.google.com/
2) http://www.rememberthemilk.com/
3) http://www.linkedin.com/

Learn:
1) http://www.wikipedia.org/
2) http://www.topix.com/
[http://www.marathimitra.com//showpage?pageid=mm.home doesn't aggregate local news from thousands of source like topix does. The site basically how to pronounce words in Marathi. Thereby, thumbs down to http://www.marathimitra.com//showpage?pageid=mm.home.]
3) http://www.howstuffworks.com

Play:
1) http://www.youtube.com/
2) http://radioverve.com/ ( like to do the same thing as done by bn-IN )
3) http://www.getmiro.com/

Connect:
( like to do the same thing as done by bn-IN for Connect features )

1) http://www.clickindia.com/
2) http://blah.burrp.com/
3) http://www.orkut.com/
ok on above suggestions from comment #3 - they have been reviewed in greater detail in bug 428152 - let's go ahead with those

Sandeep, for future reference and as you get feedback from users upon beta release we can change these links. For example they may have other suggestions that are more culturally relevant to Marathi. For our Irish build, Kevin Scannel did a really interesting thing and changed all the links to ones that were more culturally relevant to Irish speakers. Nothing that has to happen now, just food for thought for later and as you get feedback from users :) see bug 428171#c1
