Details

Thunderbird 3.0a1 (2008050715) Windows XP STR: 1. Receieve a new spam mail (this was on an IMAP account) 2. See the new mail notification pop up in the taskbar Expected result: I think spam messages should default to not be noisy, because it's an annoying distraction to be notified about casinos and viagra at work. ;-)
Bug 272125, no? It is supposed to work like that, though I know sometimes (quite rarely for me) it doesn't.
we definitely try to do the junk analysis before bringing up the new mail notification, and ignore junk mail. Are you automatically moving junk mail to the junk folder, or letting it stay in the inbox?
(In reply to comment #2) > we definitely try to do the junk analysis before bringing up the new mail > notification, and ignore junk mail. Are you automatically moving junk mail to > the junk folder, or letting it stay in the inbox? For this account, I'm not touching the mail, so it stays in the inbox. It's not my main account, if that's of any help. Haven't read all of bug 272125 yet, but it might be the same.
Håkan Waara, but it marked as junk?
(In reply to comment #4) > Håkan Waara, but it marked as junk? Yes, it was marked as junk (spam).
I have the same problem with multiple pop accounts. When using Thunderbird with several pop accounts, and all these accounts are set up to retrieve the new mails into the "local folders" "account", Thunderbird notifies new emails even if all of these new emails have been marked as junk.
I have the same problem; when thunderbird checks for new mail and determines it's all junk, it sorta suppresses the notification-box (i can see it flicker though), but still plays the sound alert. Which is quite annoying of course. I have multiple accounts. Most go to the local folders, except my gmail-account, which has its own folders. And these are my general settings in Options > Privacy: [x] when i manually mark messages as junk, move them to the junk folder [x] move incoming messages to junk, when they're determined to be junk [x] enable junk filter logging And i haven't made any different junk mail settings per individual account.
Sorry, forgot some basic stats; Thunderbird 2.0.0.17 (20080914) on Vista.
