Build ID: 2000081208 Steps to Reproduce: (1) Go to the URL above (2) Increase the size of the bottom frame (by dragging its top border upwards) When the top frame gets to a certain size, its scrollbars disappear. Attaching screenshot to make it easier to visualize...
Works fine for me on WINNT. This bug has been marked "future" because the original netscape engineer working on this is over-burdened. If you feel this is an error, that you or another known resource will be working on this bug,or if it blocks your work in some way -- please attach your concern to the bug for reconsideration.

I can reproduce this bug on FreeBSD, probably the same on Linux. To reproduce: 1) View above URL. 2) shrink window vertically until the upper frame becomes very short. At some point, the vertical, and then the horizontal scrollbar will disappear, making the rest of the page inaccessible. In fact, I see this same bug in non-frameset pages, such as: http://www.mozilla.org Shrink the page vertically until the height is very small, eventually, the vertical scrollbar will just disappear. This appears to be a general bug with GFX scrollbars and not with framesets. Passing over to Eric Vaughan.

Hmm. At some point even the arrows will no longer fit. Then at that point arrows should begin to squish too. But this will require a new feature called "flexdepth" to boxes.
I.E. Autoscales the scrollbars. Which is nice. But not necessary.
Some dup marking needs to be done, but I'm not sure which is the best bug: bug 48798 - GFX Scrollbars disappear when window gets very small bug 119677 - wrong scrollbar behaviour bug 146295 - Vertical scrollbar missing or incorrect for very small window bug 163803 - Scrollbar does not appear for small view sizes my inclination is to keep bug 48798 and dup the rest, but I'll let those involved make the call and do the deed :) -matt

Now that Mozilla on windows use native scrollbars (bug 172751), is it possible to autoscale the scrollbars buttons like IE, Opera and Netscape 4?

I've seen several (old, futured) bugs that are waiting for "flexdepth", but none of them have a dependency set. Is flexdepth listed anywhere in Bugzilla?

Sorry, I didn't notice this bug. Bug 292284 is really the same issue, but I attached already some patches and testcases there, so I'd rather not make that bug a duplicate of this bug yet.
