I am using Thunderbird to access two Gmail IMAP accounts. One works fine, but the other stopped syncing / working in the past few weeks - I am always asked for the password and upon entering what I know is the right password I get the above error message, followed by the second error message. 
I have checked the account setup details which match those for the second account that is working. I have deleted and re-set-up the non-working email account. 
None of it seems to work though. Can you please help please??

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.click 'Get Mail'
2. enter the password
3. get the two error messages, one after the other
Actual Results:  
login fails and email account does not synchronise

Expected Results:  
I expect the account to synchronise, as it used to until a few weeks ago

Have you tried the "Unlock CAPTCHA" page?

Can you check that imap/pop is enabled in the gmail UI ?

Reporter you can resolve your issue with comment #1 or comment #2?
