Bug #285117 is related to the Backspace key not acting on Linux the same way it does on Mac.
OK, it's not a bug.
But be conscious that some hardware do not have a Suppr key or have a real small one, think about laptops, and yeah, especially Apple ones.
So the feature request is : please add a Preference that would allow Backspace to behave like Suppr if the user wants it to.
Thanks a lot to the team, this v3 is gonna help me make my way out of Apple Mail :-)
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.On Linux
2.Select a message line in the main window
3.Press BackSpace...
4. Imagine a checkbox in the prefs to bind that key...

note the comment " this v3 is gonna help me make my way out of Apple Mail". Might that be a universal sentiment?
would we (or seamonkey in theory) accept such a patch?
Or do we consider this still a duplicate of bug 285117? ... And by extension, the solution to be an extension :)
Summary: Pushing bug #285117 a different way → Backspace key does not delete the message. (Pushing bug #285117 a different way)

Per Wayne's comment 1, this looks like a dupe of bug 285117 imo should be marked such. No dupes, no comments, so it doesn't look like a common problem, either.
