User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/4.0; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.648; .NET CLR 3.5.21022; .NET CLR 3.0.4506.2152; .NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.9) Gecko/20100915 Lightning/1.0b2 Thunderbird/3.1.4

Server is hMailServer, most recent build as of this posting.
hMailServer heirarchy character is "/".
hMailServer will not allow folder creation using this character.

Outlook Express, Windows Live Mail, Windows Mobile 6.6 show unsubscribed folders that contain (.).

In summary, Unsubscribed IMAP Folders containing a (.) are not listed in the folder list.

I hope this synapsis helps.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
To reproduce the error, do the following:

First, let's demonstrate that it works fine without the (.):

Create an IMAP folder, name it "Folder" (without quotes).
Click "File", "Subscribe"
Uncheck the folder named "Folder"
Click "OK"

The folder is now NOT showing, assuming the default "Show only subscribed folders" is checked.

Click "File", "Subscribe"
You should see the folder named "Folder", unchecked in the list.
This works as designed.
Click "OK"

Now, let's demonstrate the bug by creating a folder with a (.) in the folder's name:
Create a folder named "Folder.test"

The folder is now showing.

Click "File", "Subscribe"

Uncheck the folder named "Folder.test"
Click "OK"

The folder is now NOT showing.
So far, all is well.

Click "File", "Subscribe"
The folder is not available to check.
This is the bug.

Now, let's demonstrate that it is recoverable by removing the (.):
Open the account in one of the aformentioned alternative e-mail programs.

Subscribe to the folder "Folder.test".
Rename the folder "Folder.test" to "Foldertest"
Unsubscribe from the folder "Foldertest"

Using Thunderbird again, click "File", "Subscribe".
The folder "Foldertest" is listed and available to check.

Actual Results:
See "Steps to Reproduce" for a full synapsis.

Expected Results:
Should have shown the unsubscribed folders containing a (.)

I've marked the severity as Critical via Data Loss since many users will not know how to retreive their hidden folders containing a (.) as described above.
