User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0b12pre) Gecko/20110218 Firefox/4.0b12pre Build Identifier: In Firefox 4 only tabs are using animations. But those can be used also on menus, DH panels, lists etc. Too many animations would be distracting, so the usage is up to UX team to be decided. Animations are being used by all three major web browsers, so this is also for parity with 'em. Reproducible: Always

I agree, if not overused, like before mentioned, and really discreet. More fading effects on hovered elements (like already used for some of the navigation buttons' glow effect) wouldn't hurt (except the performance a bit). Could be turned off by users choice or if HWAcc. is deactivated.

Please consider adding them as dependency: Bug 373266 Bug 378276 Bug 542862

You accidentally changed the keyword and component back. Dao changed the keyword to 'meta' and the component to 'General'.

Upps, sorry.
Does this Meta bug also depend on https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=536540 - particularly useful for CSS transition of the Fx button in this bug.

Dunno, I'm leaving that to Dao.

WONTFIXing this bug, because the primary purpose of adding animations to the Firefox UI should not be arbitrary eye appeal and because the dependencies in this bug are not prioritized nor triaged by the people who would be driving the project or working on it. See bug 657423 for the project bug.

I wonder why I'm even trying to fill bugs. They're either unconfirmed, dead or wontfix. ;( I suppose you want mark depending bugs as WONTFIX as well. Shall I do it myself instead?

Oh yeah, just to be sure, this isn't any personal attack against you, just my expression of disappointment.

It's often not useful to file broad, far-reaching bugs (like meta bugs) unless the person filing them is actively working on the problem (and even then, such bugs have historically become less useful the longer they remain open). I think you'll find it more productive to _discuss_ such things with UX and developers, get them on the active radar, and then find ways to help implement specific things.
