Crash Data
When I run Nightly (and the other versions) I get spurious Reports that appear in about:crashes, MOST of them are not accessible, of the few I can access this is one: Firefox 7.0.1 Crash Report [@ pr_FindSymbolInLib ] bp-fedb7020-e2cf-42c4-ac9f-76b162111010 bp-5f4d4759-d77d-4eef-a26a-950e12111010 bp-0350202f-7b25-438f-a20b-4c04d2111010 Even though I run Nightly and Aurora the "Title" is as shown "Firefox 7.0.1 ...", also there is NO "Crash Reporter" popping up; they accumulate in "about:crashes" and the three above are one of the very FEW that are accessible. Here is my most recent "about:crashes" Entries: Report ID Date Submitted bp-5d84278a-337d-4f00-a3b3-d251a2111010 10/10/2011 10:31 bp-df0495cf-aee4-4b49-96d4-cfad02111010 10/10/2011 10:30 bp-0350202f-7b25-438f-a20b-4c04d2111010 10/10/2011 10:28 bp-54145704-a68c-4a76-b8fb-025f62111010 10/10/2011 10:28 bp-766dfdc2-bc44-43e4-b494-72d2f2111010 10/10/2011 10:28 bp-5f4d4759-d77d-4eef-a26a-950e12111010 10/10/2011 10:27 bp-5e42b2a4-5f57-4851-b67a-68aca2111010 10/10/2011 10:27 bp-c798c70e-c46a-45c0-aa8d-f09962111010 10/10/2011 10:27 bp-cfcf2e63-dcde-4df0-b3c2-ba6a22111010 10/10/2011 10:27 bp-fedb7020-e2cf-42c4-ac9f-76b162111010 10/10/2011 10:24 bp-21cd38ee-6517-4de4-ac29-53b602111010 10/10/2011 10:24 bp-c65f61d1-5aee-4768-821c-cecd22111010 10/10/2011 10:24 bp-5071c932-5842-44b7-863f-a47b72111010 10/10/2011 10:23 bp-2d7dfc0f-df62-4f68-a191-5e0912111010 10/10/2011 10:23 bp-6b14e413-ab89-414b-b8d2-bd9d62111010 10/10/2011 10:23 bp-a1870127-2fd1-410e-9e19-17db42111010 10/10/2011 10:23 Only the three listed previously are accessible the rest shown are inaccessible. The piling up of inaccessible Reports was reported in Bug 692685. Crash Signature: [@ pr_FindSymbolInLib ]
Version: 10 Branch → 7 Branch
I have a crash a few minutes ago and about:crashes reports this: Submitted Crash Reports Report ID Date Submitted bp-310a00a4-8ab0-4064-bc13-21e722111023 10/23/2011 07:13 bp-f60ebbe1-1105-486b-9df0-c313a2111023 10/23/2011 07:13 bp-7659980c-bb9a-483d-a76f-6b0fc2111023 10/23/2011 07:13 bp-e306297c-4353-495b-b429-5d4722111023 10/23/2011 07:13 bp-fe1299be-f7b3-44af-afb5-4949a2111023 10/23/2011 07:13 bp-b6d563f3-36f0-47a9-9267-124cf2111023 10/23/2011 07:12 Out of all those Reports bp-b6d563f3-36f0-47a9-9267-124cf2111023 is the only one that is accessible and it has no Signature. Is a failure of "pr_FindSymbolInLib" in addition to another crash producing Reports that have no Signature.
Related crash also occurs on Fennec in Nightly (10.0) https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/list?range_value=7&range_unit=days&date=2011-10-24%2008%3A00%3A00&signature=pr_FindSymbolInLib&version=Fennec%3A10.0a1

Rob, Marcia : I think this is related to bug 692149?
(In reply to Naoki Hirata :nhirata from comment #4) > Rob, Marcia : I think this is related to bug 692149? Bug 692149 Comment 8 explains the (re)purpose of 692149. Comment 0 explains _this_ Bug ('THIS Report is ONLY about "pr_FindSymbolInLib" in ...'); so not related. Trying to report _this_ Bug was hampered by Bug 692685 and Bug 692149 (as they do to all Bug reporting, until you remove the Plugin manually; while we await a fix for 692149).

Does this still happen in 16 beta 1 (to be released today)? We fixed bug 700583 there, which has the same crash signature, so could be connected.

We fixed bug > 700583 there, which has the same crash signature, so could be connected. I usually run Nightly (now at 18.0a1) so I imagine your question regarding 16 beta 1 applying to Aurora. I have not seen _this_ Bug (or MOST others) occur in months. I can not imagine we have fixed everything but that is the impression I get when I use Firefox. o.O

It's a low volume crash. There are only 15 crashes in Firefox 15.0 over the last week.

Rob, when I say beta I mean beta, not Aurora. ;-) That said, it's fixed in both Aurora and Nightly as well. Scoobidiver, we didn't fix this in 15, only in 16 and up. Though, actually, as we pushed it for 15.0.1 mobile, it might be fixed in 15.0.1 desktop as well. Given comment #7, I'll just mark it as a dupe of 700583 and consider it fixed unless we see it again in 16 or higher.

I know, but considering the low volume in 15.0, it's less likely it happens in 16.0 Beta whatever the status of bug 700583. Closing as a dupe of bug 700583 or as workforme works for me.
