There was some speculation between philor and I that the problem might be the URL we are using to connect to the mochi server, but after a few goes on try, I managed to get: TEST-INFO | chrome://mochitests/content/browser/toolkit/components/social/test/browser/browser_frameworker.js | Console message: [JavaScript Error: "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at ws://mochi.test:8888/socketserver." ... Also FWIW, bug 766826 seems to have very similar issues, although in that bug browser_frameworker isn't the first listed test failure.
oh man - that last one has just before the timeout: TEST-INFO | chrome://mochitests/content/browser/toolkit/components/social/test/browser/browser_frameworker.js | Console message: [JavaScript Error: "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at ws://www.example.com/socketserver." {file: "data:application/javascript;charset=utf-8,let%20run=(function%20()%20%7B%0A%20%20%20%20%20%20onconnect%20=%20function(e)%20%7B%0A%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20let%20port%20=%20e.ports%5B0%5D;%0A%0A%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20try%20%7B%0A%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20var%20exampleSocket%20=%20new%20WebSocket(%22ws://www.example.com/socketserver%22);%0A%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%7D%20catch%20(e)%20%7B%0A%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20port.postMessage(%7Btopic:%20%22done%22,%20result:%20%22FAILED%20calling%20WebSocket%20constructor:%20%22%20+%20e%7D);%0A%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20return;%0A%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%7D%0A%0A%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20port.postMessage(%7Btopic:%20%22done%22,%20result:%20%22ok%22%7D);%0A%20%20%20%20%20%20%7D%0A%20%20%20%20%7D);run();" line: 6}] ... --DOMWINDOW == 52 (0x162b32870) [serial = 10127] [outer = 0x0] [url = about:neterror?e=netOffline&u=http%3A//mochi.test%3A8888/%23bug_680727&c=UTF-8&d=Firefox%20is%20currently%20in%20offline%20mode%20and%20can%27t%20browse%20the%20Web.] --
That last one, which occurred during a period of troubles with releng's network? You're hitting the network for the real www.example.com, aren't you? I knew it all along, you're a dirty network-toucher!
Pushed a change to hit mochi.test:8888 in bug 805725
Whiteboard: [orange]
This seems to have stopped happening, can we close it?
Forward duping to bug 914615 since there is a patch in there. If there are any more occurrences, we should start a new bug (there are a few mis-stars/different issues in here).
