Sometimes the bar is visible on startup, but disappears when any URL is accessed. Slider area continues to behave as though the whole of the bar was present. Reporter, do you have image blocking set to "originating server only" in prefs? I assume so and assign this to valeski@netscape.com (see bug 84162).

I'm seeing a different behavior. I've set to ask before loading any images, and this breakage appears if I deny when it asks for images from a site called "global". If I allow images from "global", it works fine.
If you choose "Do not load any images" in Pref, you will see the same problem.

It's also interesting that the scrollbar *is* loaded, it just disappears when the page is displayed. That is, when a page is loading, the scrollbar is completely visible, but when it's finished loading the scrollbar disappears. Is this a known bug in blocking images (that the image is actually loaded, just not displayed)?
