Repro Steps:
1) In Dialer, enter phone numbers
2) Tap "Add contact" button
3) Action menu pops up, users can tap "Create new contact" or "Add to existing contact"

Actual:
If they tap "Create new contact", the "select contact" page will slide in first and "Contact edit" page will slide in afterwards. (attachment 1 [details] [diff] [review])

If they tap "Add to existing contact", the "Contact" page will slide in first and "Contact picker" will slide in afterwards. (attachment 2 [details] [diff] [review])

Expected:
The contact edit page or the contact picker should slide in directly. It shouldn't have that additional transition page.

This is similar to bug 947076 and bug 951505. We need to split the contacts app into several documents (we call that "haidification" bug 946750) to be able to do this.
Component: Gaia::Dialer → Gaia::Contacts
Depends on: 946750
Summary: [Dialer] Wrong transition → Update activity should not flash the contact list
triage: add this to backlog as we need haidification to be done first

Is this still an issue or can we close the bug? THanks!

Hi Tiffanie,

According to the STR in comment 0, the case 1 ("Create new contact") of this bug does not occur, but the case 2 ("Add to existing contact") of this bug still occurs on the latest build of Flame KK v2.5&2.6 and Aries KK v2.5&2.6. Could you please take a look? Thanks.

Actual results:
Case 1:
After tapping the "Create new contact", the blue background flashes for 0.5 second and then "Contact edit" page appears.
Case 2:
After tapping the "Add to existing contact", the "Contact" page appears for 0.5 second in first and then "Contact picker" appears.

See attachments: Flame_v2.6.3gp and logcat_0401.txt
Reproduce rate: 0/10 (case 1), 10/10(case 2)
