I somehow managed to stop this bug depending on bug 128960, presumably when I added a comment to bug 128960. This confuses me as I didn't get any sort of mid-air collision warning. Correcting.

a= has been requested for bug 128959 (add icons to tasks menu). I have started on http://bugscape/show_bug.cgi?id=12847 (add mail and AIM to the left of the personal toolbar) and am about 40% done with that.
bug 128959 has r/sr/a=, and adt1.0.0+. How are we doing on the bugscape bug?

Calling this bug fixed is pretty lame (sorry). Discoverable (to me) means "prominently visible at all times" - the component bar is too small and out of the way to count. This bug has the potential to remedy a major drawback of Mozilla for novice users.
The component bar wasn't enough to begin with, which is why we've looked for other ways of improving the discoverability. The main solutions (the ones we could implement for Mozilla 1.0 / MachV, anyway) are: 1. Put a mail icon on the desktop 2. Put a mail icon in the quicklaunch area (on Windows) next to the Start button 3. Put the mail icon up in the personal toolbar (together with AIM) Note: Mozilla didn't want this, so it'll only be in Netscape. 4. Put the mail icon in the Window menu to provide visual links between the icon there, the one on the desktop and the one in the component bar. If it turns out this doesn't suffice, we'll file a new bug.
