Steps to reproduce:

Play Farmville 2 on http://apps.facebook.com/farmville-two


Actual results:

There are multiple issues in game farmville 2 when the flag dom.ipc.plugins.asyncdrawing.enabled is set to true

1.)Mouse Wheel Stops Working
2.)The Rendering becomes extremely slow
3.)Mouse clicks are delayed, click state reflects after several minutes
. 
Lot of players are facing this issue along with slow gameplay on the new Firefox versions as this flag is turned on .
The moment we set this flag to false the issues get fixed. Can we investigate and fix these issues?




Expected results:

Game should have worked normally at good speed, mouse middle scroll wheel should have worked, button clicks should not be delayed

Hi,

we are developing Flash games as well and I can confirm there are issues with dom.ipc.plugins.asyncdrawing.enabled set to true.

1) We have users complaining that our games no longer work. Unfortunately, we are not able to reproduce the problem, yet, but it seems that the Stage3D content fails to render for some users since dom.ipc.plugins.asyncdrawing.enabled was set to true. I assume that the available GPU resources with the flag have changed, or that it is related to the new Direct3D9 fallback. In any case, this is a problem that has been introduced with the latest Firefox 49 hotfix [1].


2) The mouse wheel behavior for plugin in Firefox changes with dom.ipc.plugins.asyncdrawing.enabled on. If Farmville 2 is using any sort of MouseWheelTrap like our own games do (most Flash games do to prevent the outside container from scrolling while using the mousewheel in the game), the JS code has to be changed. The mousewheel event now has to be injected into the Flash content, similar to Chrome and Macbooks. The problem here is though, that means for Firefox version without dom.ipc.plugins.asyncdrawing.enabled, the mouse wheel event will be handled twice. And I do not know of a way to detect if dom.ipc.plugins.asyncdrawing.enabled is set to true in Javascript, to handle both cases separately. Is this intended behavior or a bug?

I was able to play this game for 20 minutes. I then left the machine idle for 20 minutes. When I came back the flash screen was blacked out and the browser console shows as follows. Attacked is a screenshot of the issue.

Mouse wheel would zoom in and zoom out in Firefox, this feature works fine in Chrome and IE but not in Firefox with the flag enabled. On disabling this starts working fine

I can confirm everything the reporter stated in the Description, reproduced using Firefox 49.0.2 on Windows 10x64 (AMD Radeon HD 5450) and Windows 7x64 (NVIDIA GeForce 210)

STR:
1. Launch Firefox 49.0.2 with a new profile
2. Log into your Facebook account
3. Start playing FarmVille 2:

4. Play for a couple of minutes 

Expected results:
Playing should be smooth

Actual results: 
- the mouse wheel does not work - zooming in and out using the mouse wheel is not allowed in normal mode (in full screen is working correctly)
- the rendering becomes really slow 
- the mouse courser is lost 
- mouse clicks are delayed.

Please note that all the above behaviors are more easy to reproduce on a Firefox 32-bit build than on a Firefox 64-bit build.
I can also confirm that the issue is not reproducible on Firefox 49.0.2 if the preference "dom.ipc.plugins.asyncdrawing.enabled" is set to false (on Windows 10 and Windows 7).
The issue is not reproducible on Mac OS X 10.12 - Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB.

We receive more and more reports from our users that our games are very laggy or do not load in Firefox. Is this under investigation? We are currently considering to add a header for Firefox users, recommending them to switch the browser if they run into problems. I would absolutely like to avoid it because I for one think that Firefox is a great project, but the amount of reports we receive can not be neglected.

is it possible to do a FF chemspill release to turn off the flag till all the issues are regressed and resolved for this?, we are receiving lot of CS reports for Farmville 2 as well, we have already added a header asking players to switch to other browser as that is the only solution for players (apart from manually changing the flag)

In the latest version of Firefox i.e. Firefox 50, the game does not load on 64 bit browsers. (The loading bar gets stuck)
Further we checked that when we set the flag asyncDrawingEnabled to true the game starts loading.

Can we get this fixed?
