From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:0.9.9) Gecko/20020310 BuildID: 2002031005 the Javascript function that is supposed to submit this form does not work. no errors are generated, but neither does the form actually get submitted. unfortunately, i don't know enough Javascript to be able to determine whether this is a Mozilla problem or an evangelism issue. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. visit http://launch.yahoo.com/launchcast/setup.asp 2. create an account if necessary 3. fill out the form 4. click submit Actual Results: nothing. the form did not submit. Expected Results: the form should have submitted.
confirming using build 2002031608 on Win2k. Related (dupe ?): bug 131214.

Browser, not engine ---> Form Submission for further triage. I can't see where they are blocking Mozilla, but perhaps that's the problem. Note these Evangelism bugs at http://launch.yahoo.com : bug 121832 "yahoo.com - cannot use radio service " 123112 "yahoo.com - launch.yahoo.com Blocking from site"

Olivier, is this really a duplicate? In this bug, are we getting the alertbox saying, "An unknown error occurred while attempting to load the requested page" ? tfo@monsterlabs.com: is that what you get when you hit submit?
This is what I get: "An unknown error occurred while attempting to load the requested page" when submitting form. See also the reduced testcase I made.
on the URL i posted, i get no dialog boxes. i get no response from Mozilla.
I get this when I hit submit: Error: formElements.elements has no properties Source File: http://launch.yahoo.com/launchcast/setup.asp Line: 374 This is not a dupe, but an evangelism bug.

i still have the original problem under 1.0RC1 (Build ID: 2002041712). nothing happens when i hit Create My Station at the bottom of the page at the referenced URL. i have never gotten an error. i just get no response. no errors reported in the Javascript Console.
what is the test case supposed to do when clicked? does it generate an error for anybody? as i've mentioned, i never get any error dialogs, nor any Javascript Console messages on this bug. is this an evangelism issue?
Thomas, what happens if you create a new Mozilla profile? [path to Mozilla] ./mozilla -profilemanager Does the problem still occur with the new profile?
well, ironically, Launch seems to be down for maintenance... maybe they're incorporating evangelism fixes! :)
the problem still occurs with the new profile, and whatever maintenance happened at Launch didn't fix anything.

Their response to my e-mailed request for help was: <quote> LAUNCHcast requires the following in order to properly stream media content: PC * Windows 95, 98, ME, NT 4.0, 2000 Professional, XP Home, or Professional * Pentium II, 233MHz or faster * at least 64MB RAM * Internet Explorer or Netscape browser, 4.0 or higher * Windows Media Player 6.4 or higher * Macromedia Flash 4.0 or higher </quote> Apparently, they don't give a rat's ass about Mozilla. I advised them I met their criteria (Mozilla being >= Netscape 4.0), but I doubt they'll care.
has anyone tried this using NS 7? i've tried it under Moz 1.0, Moz 1.1, and Chimera 0.6 to no avail.
Probably blocked because of windows media player scriptability
i'm not so sure. the JavaScript related to form submission doesn't seem to be Windows Media scripting. it seems to be plain ol' JavaScript. now, i don't know enough about DOM to figure out whether it's broken DOM access that is preventing the form submission, or what, but this step seems to occur before any other scriptability. unless i'm missing something.
Doron was right. No need to comment further on this bug until Windows Media Player can be scripted.
one last question: does this currently affect all platforms, or Mac only?
i figured i'd just post the official word from Yahoo! about this site. i still feel that there might be more to it than merely scriptability of Windows Media Player.
