Same is happening with bookmark folders.
bug 130778 regression?
Comment 2•23 years ago
|

I see the same thing on Win2k nightly build 2002032503, in bookmarks, in the
file menu, etc. I don't know if this was mentioned, but I get highlights on the
first level of selection, but all child/sublevels do not show highlights (so
anything after a > icon will not be highlighted).
Changing OS to All.

I only see this in Personal Toolbar folders and Bookmark menu sublevels, nowhere
in other menus. Same with both modern and classic theme. Setting os->all per

Summary: personal toolbar folders don't show menu highlight → personal toolbar folders, bookmark / all? submenus don't show menu highlight
Comment 4•23 years ago
|
||
With 2002032510 on Win2K with Classic I see the problem (no highlight) in
submenus of the real Bookmarks menu, submenus of the menu from the Bookmarks
button on the personal toolbar, and in personal toolbar folders. Other menus and
submenus seem to work fine.

I first saw this with 2002-03-25-10-trunk nightly and I just installed
2002-03-26-05-trunk nightly (this is Win98) and still see it. Both for personal
toolbar and sub-folders in the bookmark drop-down menu. "Normal" menus like
"View->zoom" higlight just fine. BTW, using classic theme.
Found this bug number thanks to mozillazine.org build forum. No search needed. :)

With my build from 2002-03-27-18 nothing gets highlighted in the bookmark menu,
not even on level 0. I'll let other people reopen this if they see this too.

Andre - what theme are you using? I saw this as well on build 2002032708, but
then realized I was using graymodern (their 1.01 release) and when I use Classic
or Modern, the highlighting now works on all levels.

Still doesn't work on FreeBSD.
Version: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; FreeBSD i386; en-US; rv:0.9.9+) Gecko/20020328,
build 2002032807
I have tried with both classic and modern skin. Bookmarks in subfolders are not
highlighted when the cursor is over them. Also the cusor should be an arrow when
placed over menus but it's a cross.
I'm sorry but I'm reopening the bug.

I can only confirm the later observation. In the root level, the cursur is
correcly an arrow, but as soon as I enter a subdirectory the arrow becomes a
cross. This is with 2002-04-09-05 on Linux with FVWM as window manager.
Sven, can you try to create a new profile and see if the highlighting bug is
fixed then?

Hmm, working for me on a self-built gcc 2.95.3 optimized 2002-04-10 trunk build
with GTK as toolkit and KDE 2.2.2 as windowmanager...

Moved my .mozilla directory out of the way and tried with a brand new
configuration. Same thing - it doesn't work.
I use FreeBSD 4.5-STABLE (3 weeks old).
[esbjerg@neumann]> uname -an
FreeBSD neumann.xbsd.net 4.5-STABLE FreeBSD 4.5-STABLE #5: Sun Feb 17 17:37:03
CET 2002 root@neumann.xbsd.net:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/NEUMANN i386
I use fvwm-2.4.6 and tomorrow I will try with sawfish and the hole gnome thingie
- takes a while to compile.
I might add that mozilla-0.9.9 from ports shows no problems.

The cross pointer is still there for me on _all_ menu levels once a menu is
activated. Highlighting is ok. Environment:
linux build 2002041011 1.0.0RC1 branch
fvwm2-2.3.31
Sven: It seems you are using an old build 2002032807.
Please try to update to a current mozilla build. This should at least fix the
highlight problem.

Found out that there is a new binary for fbsd-4.5. My automatic download script
didn't pick that one. New version:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; FreeBSD i386; en-US; rv:0.9.9+) Gecko/20020411, build
2002041107
Highligting is fixed but the cursor is still a cross and not an arrow. I suppose
it's should be an arrow?

I think this bug should be re-closed and bug 133387 be confirmed before this
bug morphs too much.
Comment 38•23 years ago
|

Resolved fixed since this works with 2002-04-11-09. The issue with the x instead
of a pointer is discussed in bug 133387.
