- "* QuickTime (Bugs 59059)" should read "* QuickTime (Bug 59059)" - "everything should Just Work without any help" should read "everything should just work without any help" - Why aren't we linking to Apple's MRJ page? (http://developer.apple.com/java/download.html) - NPOJI610.dll should read NPOJI600.dll if we're talking about JRE1.3 - /ns610/ should read /ns600/ on Linux if we're talking about JRE1.3 - Why aren't we talking about JRE1.4? - Plugin autodetection on Windows? Shouldn't it be mentioned here, since we search for Javasoft folders and use the plugins in them? - "Installing Java with low disk space may cause the Installer to hang. (Bug 45067) Before you begin installing Mozilla with Java, be sure to check your disk space (see System Requirements.)". We don't distribute installers with Java. Netscape do. Why is this in the Mozilla release notes? - Installing on Linux. Why don't we link to Sun's JRE page? - "To use Mozilla with a proxy that only supports HTTP 1.0, edit the HTTP Version from 1.1 to 1.0 in Edit | Preferences | Debug | Networking." - That pref is now under Prefs > Advanced > HTTP Networking - Problems with Flash should be listed under Plugins only IMHO - "The Flash plugin context menu does not disappear when you clicks outside". should be "click". - Mozilla has been tested with JRE 1.4 Final, and works quite well with it thankyou. - "Additional LiveConnect problems are being addressed in JDK 1.4 as mentioned above." 1.4 has RTM'd. Maybe that should read "have been adderessed..." - "On Macintosh and OS/2 (i.e. non-Windows platform)". Should be "platforms". - "The JRE 130_02 (or later) that Mozilla users can download from a Netscape ftp site" - Once again, why are we not linking to Sun's JRE download page? - "(Bug 137470) (Bug 138156)". "Bugs 137470 and 138156"? - "If a username or password is embedded into a URI in the form of http://username:password@sitename.com. Mozilla will not warn the user of this when the user follows the link. URI's with long usernames in the form of http://www.mozilla.org%2084230482304982304329048230948@fraudsite.com could deceive users into thinking they were going to mozilla.org when they were really going to fraudsite.com" - Why does this have a link to the ATI Driver bug? -" While enabling HTTP pipelining may significantly improve page load times, it can prevent some websites from loading correctly. If you experience problems loading a website, please verify that HTTP pipelining is disabled and try again (see Preferences->Advanced->HTTP Networking). HTTP pipelining is disabled by default." has a link to a different bug - "To view frame source, point to the frame and click the right mouse button (Control click on Mac OS) and then choose View Frame Source from the context menu.". wrong bug again! - "Copy Newsgroup messages to any account: Message labels are lost.". wrong bug yet again! Also, can we PLEASE seperate the relnotes for each OS before 1.0? The smaller and more the document is, the more likely people are to read it...

the username/password warning is bug 122445 Which bug should we link to for pipelining ? The original, or the one (two ?) open about problems with it ?

I should've said "the smaller and more readable the document is..." in my opinion piece down the bottom :)

1. Release notes should prominently link to the Mozilla FAQ 2. "We've landed XXX bug fixes" -> "We've fixed XXX bugs" - cut the jargon 3. Linux library/OS requirements are hopelessly out of date 4. If the two mentions of McAfee product crashes in Compatibility are really different, they should at least be in the same paragraph. Is this product available for UNIX ? 5. "Installing on top of previously installed builds may cause problems." - bug nr. for this perhaps ? There's more ...

Also, why did the RC3 release notes overwrite the RC2 release notes. Can't find the RC2 notes anymore.

What's the status of this bug? The URL now points to the 1.0 relnotes, which still contain at least some of the points mentioned below.
