This bug tracks all ongoing engineering work related to switching the repository format used by the Search Service from OpenSearch XML to WebExtensions instead.

The Remove button below One-Click Search Engines on about:preferences#search doesn't remove WebExtension search engines (it hides them for current session only). See: bug 1546652

Should that be tracked here?

That doesn't seem to be a regression from this work, and it isn't to do with switching the format in the repository to WebExtensions, so I don't think it should be tracked here.

It probably isn't in the ideal component, so I've moved it across for now at least for triage.

Search Engines as WebExtensions have been shipping for a while now, we're closing this out - any remaining items will be tracked by the bugs already filed for them.
