1658647 - Can't zoom embedded Google Maps using Ctrl + scroll trackpad gesture

Steps to reproduce

1. In Fx81 Nightly, load a page with an embedded Google Map, such as https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/interaction or a house detail page on https://www.zillow.com/.
2. Scroll the embedded map on screen.
3. Try to zoom the map in and out using Ctrl + scroll trackpad gesture.

Expected result

The map should zoom in and out.

Actual result

The page scrolls instead of the map zooming. If I reset the apz.allow_zooming pref = false and restart Firefox, then I can zoom the map using Ctrl + scroll trackpad gesture.

I'm using Fx81 Nightly on Windows 10.

Hi Chris, would you mind helping us verifying this bug on Beta 81? I tried to reproduce it on Nightly 81 (2020-08-11) with your steps using Windows 10, but, the map zooming always work via CTR + scroll trackpad in my case.

Could you please confirm if this fix works on your end?

Sure. I verified that embedded map zooming works correctly in Nightly 82 and Beta 81.0b9 for both apz.allow_zooming true and false.

I filed bug 1664558 with the same STR as this bug because Ctrl+scrolling doesn't zoom the map when Fission is enabled with apz.allow_zooming == true.
