The current crop of colorway themes are not set up well to be supported in the long term. We currently have no mechanism with which to expire them, their localization code is fragile, they are labour-intensive to create, and they are prone to breaking in the future. This project is about improve the themes in those respects. There is an engineering plan here and a breakdown here.
