User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:104.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/104.0
Steps to reproduce:
I have a filter installed and active that moves the incoming mail into a folder directly (local folders) by some criterion. Then I click on that folder and on that new email such that it is marked as read.
Actual results:
Thunderbird shows 1 new email the folder is bold+blue and in the windows task bar it has a red (1). After I click on the email and mark it as read, It still shows one new eMail, in the win task bar as well as the root folder. Only why I then click on my mail root's inbox in the tree the notifications(counter) disappears.
I observed this behaviour years ago and I thoguht thunderbird has no longer any development
Expected results:
it should not show new emails when I open and read the emai l(or mark it as read)

Reporter, do you still see this issue when using the latest version?
What information can you add to clarify the steps to reproduce this issue?
