Hi team,
The new menu redesign still looks bad...requires many click to access a simple item or requires many swipes...but not use combination of list and buttons to make it more productive and smaller? Back in 2021 , Victoria shared one UI which looks so much good without any complicated sub menus...why not implement this?

Hi Raj! The new menu redesign is a work in progress and has not been fully implemented. Right now it's a mix of old menu-redesign and new which is what you are experiencing. We promise it will look better. I'll update this when it's been fully completed so you are aware.
Thank you for putting up your concern.

The new menu redesign as of 7th June, looks close to perfect..only 2 changes required, moving account, settings and quit button to the top same as old menu redesign and moving forward, back, share and reload to the bottom as sticky panel.
Also I love the new fully expanded state
Thanks skhan and mozilla team β€οΈ
Really happy with the new design..

I wanted to share some thoughts on the new menu navigation, specifically regarding the placement of navigation elements.
Since the new menu became available, I've been using it regularly, and I've found the navigation elements in the middle of the screen, and their movement, to be a bit frustrating. While I understand the potential idea behind encouraging gesture use, the "Share" function, which I use frequently, isn't available as a gesture. Additionally, I occasionally encounter pages that require a refresh button, which also isn't as readily accessible.
I've found myself comparing it to the previous menu redesign, where navigation was located at the bottom. That experience felt really intuitive and logical. It's also worth noting that the standard Android design conventions typically place navigation either at the top or bottom of the screen.

I remember back in 2019-20 when fenix was initially launched, it had swipe up gesture from the address bar which was showing 3 options - share, open in app and another one I don't remember..cool feature...but sadly they removed it with future build with reason conflict with Android swipe up gesture which was not the case and many other apps has swipe up gesture support
Hey Raj! Like promised, we've neared completion of our menu-redesign. Here to put it out there.

Hey Paul! The reason to enable to in nightly was to get early feedback from you all. We've acknowledged this feedback and are actively working with UX to explore and implement improvements here.

I just got the new menu on Firefox Beta. I would love to see the Back, Forward, Refresh, and Share buttons lower down like they were before as their current position on a larger phone like the S23 Ultra places them too high for me to be able to click one-handed. I feel they are much more commonly used than the history bar so should be located in an easier to reach spot.
I would also love to get an option to replace the password button with a pinned extension. I, like a lot of people, use a 3rd party password manager like bitwarden, so that button serves no purpose to me but to take up the limited space in the menu. If it could also double as a pinned extension, then it would have infinitely more use to a lot of people.

Thank you for your suggestion here! Point 1 is definitely being actively worked on. I will share the second point with our team.

I second here, back, forward reload and share definitely have to be at the lower end of the menu again!
What is the status on this ?
