Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7a) Gecko/20040128 Firebird/0.8.0+ Steps to reproduce: 1. Ctrl+T (or Alt+D if you already have multiple tabs open) 2. Ctrl+Tab Result: nothing happens Expected: switch tabs. (I don't know whether focus should remain in the address bar or go to whatever had focus when the switched-to tab was last selected.) Could be related to bug 227887, "Ctrl+Tab doesn't work in failed (gray, completely blank) tab".

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7a) Gecko/20040126 Firebird/0.8.0+ (.:MrC:.) This might be related to bug 223675, since I tried this under Linux and it failed to switch tabs.

Ctrl + tab works from the addressbar (with or without a new tab) for me using a recent linux (GTK2) nightly. Ctrl+tab first gives focus to the content area and then swiiches ttabs. Ctrl + PgUp and Ctrl + PgDn appear to open the addess dropdown widget instead of switching tabs.
(In reply to comment #5) > Ctrl + tab works from the addressbar (with or without a new tab) for me using a > recent linux (GTK2) nightly. Ctrl+tab first gives focus to the content area and > then swiiches ttabs. It's supposed to switch tabs even if the address bar has focus.
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8a) Gecko/20040428 Firefox/0.8.0+ (daihard: XFT+GTK2; opt. for P4/SSE-2) Ctrl-Tab AND Ctrl-Shift-Tab works when the address bar AND the search bar has focus. This bug is definitely not present on Linux anymore.
> Ctrl + PgUp and Ctrl + PgDn appear to open the addess > dropdown widget instead of switching tabs. I've also noticed that if a text field on the web page itself has focus, ctrl-page up and page down are either ignored, or pull down the completion listing for that field. [Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8a) Gecko/20040507 Firefox/0.8.0+]

When the address bar is pulled down (showing the list), control-tab still doesn't switch tabs for me. Shall I file a different bug? Running nightly MacOSX/10.3.4 build. Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8a2) Gecko/20040714
tested with recent aviary1.0 branch bits (mac 7/15; win xp and linux rh9 7/21), and ctrl+[shift]+tab, ctrl+pagedn/up switch tabs, whether focus is in the location bar, page content or search field. vrfy'ing as fixed.
