You're the man!
If your Firefox 1.0.5 won't start and you previously installed BookmarksHome, then:
- Uninstall Firefox 1.0.5
- Install Firefox 1.0.4
- Remove chrome://bookmarkshome/content/bookmarksHome.html from Tools -> Options
-> Home Page and insert about:blank
- Uninstall Firefox 1.0.4
- Install Firefox 1.0.5
Everything now works fine!
I'll wait for a BookmarksHome version working on Fx 1.0.5.

Mentions extreme slow down with firefox 1.0.5 and sessionsaver it is unclear if
this is a new issue with 1.0.5 or the same problem would be present with 1.0.4
---
I installed SessionSaver over Firefox 1.0.5 and I have a massive Firefox
slowdown. Every time I click on a different tab, or switch to a different
window, Firefox CPU usage spikes up to 40-50% for about 5-10 seconds (just
enough to be irritating). It makes using the Web painful with Firefox painful. I
never used SessionSaver until yesterday so I'm not sure if it's an
imcompatibility between 1.0.5 and SessionSaver or what.

JPEG files not loading in browser when clicked - might be extension related
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=292081
"bookmarks toolbar doesn't work, it's there but empty" says has tried "removing
extensions, themes, plugins" but still possibly extension related
Nothing else on Mozillazine - Mozilla Firefox Support forums that seems significant

Bug 300852 offers some technical details as to why some extension maybe having
problems:
---
This is what I do :
*****
var sb = document.getElementById("searchbar");
sb.addEventListener("input", function() { alert('it works'); }, false, true);
*****
This code throws this exception :
*****
Error: [Exception... "'JavaScript component threw a null value as an exception'
when calling method: [nsIDOMEventListener::handleEvent]" nsresult: "0x8057001d
(NS_ERROR_XPC_JS_THREW_NULL)" location: "<unknown>" data: no]

Closing, seems to have outlived its usefullness.
For reference older versions of "Download sort" and "single window mode" are
known to cause tab related problems.
