Get mail
Message -> Inbox (INBOX highlight, MESSAGE highlight)
Message -> filter move to subfolder (subfolder unmarked, MESSAGE highlighted)

Reproducible: Always

Actual Results:
New Message -> Inbox -> filter -> subfolder,MESSAGE

Expected Results:
New Message -> Inbox -> filter -> SUBFOLDER,MESSAGE

Thunderbird retrieves messages from two location into two Inboxes. Some mail is filtered to subfolder for sorting. New messages into "inbox" highlight INBOX and NEW MESSAGE. New messages filtered to subfolder remain highlighted but the subfolder remains unhighlighted so new mail is missed.
NOTE:
When message in subfolder is "Marked" (unmarked "As Read") SUBFOLDER highlighed, MESSAGE highlighed.
When UNREAD message in INBOX is (right click) moved to subfolder "SUBFOLDER highlighed, MESSAGE highlighed.
Possibly a dupe of bug 316946.
Also possible dup of bug 261201 and bug 316768

version 2.0.0.16 (20080708)
New sessages that have been filtered from the inbox to subfolders are filtered correctly, but the folders are not highlighted as containing new mail until you click on the folder. This is becoming a fatal flaw as new messages are constantly being missed

This is reproducible all the time on all machines using version 2.0.0.16 (20080708), with windows xp sp2 and sp3.
Similar or dupe of bug #298684?
