the moving bar goes out of its range

Details
The scrolling bar in the lower-left (at least in the standard chrome)
sometimes leaves an ugly mark under the text and everywhere on the statusbar.
It just draws itself there and won't go away.
I could assign the bug to any specific circumstance, it just happens,
more or less often.

When you maxamize the window does the "ugly mark" go away?
This is a duplicate of something - here some candidates:
bug 21639 Progress meter paints three times for each update (Marked fixed
2000-01-14)
bug 29118 Extra refreshes while drawing the progress bar (Assigned to:
kmcclusk@netscape.com)
bug 32927 Progress bar goes out of boundary and overlaps text
Own comments:
There is still a refresh problem. When loading a page starts, all looks fine and
barberstyle progess/activity indicator scrolls away.
But cover the browser window with another app and raise browser again and you
see that there's a bigger image - not animated - expanding under and to the
right of the "real" indicator. In a snap - before it refreshes to grey again and
URL is loaded, there's usually yet a visible refresh - a shorter version of a
too large still-image. So at least 4 refreshes are taking place in that region
currently during the "lifespan" of an active indicator. the first and last are
correct, and two are erronous, displaying oversized non-animated versions.
This is observed in build ID 2000040708 linux. Debugging of pain flashing is not
turned on.
In addition the new frame around the indicator is too small, but in bug 25416
it's commented that it is the progress meter (or the animated gif?) that must be
at least 2 pixels smaller.
Noticed there were around 100 bugs regarding the progess indicator, and many are
open and assigned to different people :)
have a snapshot of the larger "bleed". Still trying to catch the "medium sized"
one - it's quicker than i. Bugzilla won't accept attachments currently.
oops error above: it isn't 32927 - it's bug 33927 that is "Progress bar goes out
of boundary and overlaps text"
