Spell check is kind of different than I think. I was expecting that it is like the spellboundII extension. There is one separate window and some buttons like "ignore" "ignore all" "change" "change all". I can't find this kind of thing at Firefox 2. Instead of it there is just red underline and I gotta right click every each of them. That takes long time for a foreign bad speller like me.
So I would like to get this feature in Firefox 2. well maybe FF2.5 would be nice.

I agree and would completely love a redesign spell checking in Firefox.  Right-clicking every single misspelled word sucks. I attached a screenshot from OOo.

Just to list things needed out, Firefox needs a dialog with at least the following:

Select dictionary
Ignore Once
Ignore All
*Add
Change
Change All
**Options

*Clicking add would show a drop-down to let you select which dictionary to add the word to with an option to add to all installed dictionaries.
**Clicking options would open a new dialog with things like:
Check spelling as you type
Check uppercase words
Check words with numbers
Check capitalization

This would essentially fix a lot of the Core:Spelling Checker bugs including:

Bug 287935, bug 293465, bug 435930, bug 214518, bug 69687, bug 355331, bug 253957, bug 341960, bug 344686, bug 384234, bug 464660 and bug 481884

Ben, not even wanted for 1.9.2?  This would fix a huge ammount of bugs of that have been present ever since the spell checking was checked in years and number of releases ago.  Most of the work would be pretty straight forward with xul and could just leave the options part for 3.7.

Not, not wanted, we've already branched, don't have a patch, and this would require significant l10n work.
