This is in response to Bug 383868, which seeks to remove the Photon port on the trunk.

The Photon Cairo port under active development. We have begun work to move to Cairo on the trunk, however this work has been delayed due to more active work on our Firefox 2.0 port.

So the plan is to definitely complete a Cairo version but the timing is uncertain. Because the photon Gecko code is not part of the regular Tinderbox builds, it should be ok to leave it as-is on the trunk for now.

What is the status on this? FF3.0 is almost there, and there seems no active development going in /gfx/src/photon.
bug 138188, bug 217943, and bug 355933 are all against this old code, so as soon it is removed, these bugs can be closed.

I am still working mainly on FF2.0 based issues. The QNX Cairo port and FF3.0 work will be delayed.

I request permission to delete gfx/src/photon (not any of the other photon-specific code mentioned in bug 383868) from the master Mercurial repository once that opens for checkins; not from CVS. Thus, this would only affect Moz2.0, not FF3 or anything else built out of CVS. I am working on cutting out all the old nsIRenderingContext APIs so that all of layout etc. calls Thebes directly; having non-Thebes implementations of nsIRenderingContext in the tree just confuses the issue.

The code would remain available in CVS for reference purposes, and I'm not getting rid of the native widget or embedding support, so I doubt this will interfere with your ability to resurrect the port.
The request from comment #4 is fine by me.
The gfx/src/photon directory is no longer there in hg.

DUP to bug 447693 (as that is where gfx/src/photon was removed).
