This meta bug is to collect ways to improve the steps of creating and refining the actual search *results* set - so we can focus on them. These may be methods to assist and enable greater control and refinement of the process in generating the results - both manual and automatic.

Many, but not all of these bugs will naturally be ENH bugs.

Out of scope for this meta bug, for now, are:
* ways to operate on the messages in the results, eg bug 515770 - provide a way to manipulate messages ...: tag, delete, mark, reply ... 
* trivial formatting issues
* accessibility
* incorrect results, eg Bug 541349 - (glodafailtracker) [META] [faceted search] incomplete/incorrect/inaccurate/missing messages in "Search all messages" results for Gloda Global Search and Indexer
* performance issues
