We need to start publishing release notes on Bedrock, and we have the start of a plan for doing so. In the broadest strokes, it is to: a) create a JSON output from whatever workflow the release team uses to manage release notes b) build automation to consume that JSON and publish it to the web, without developer intervention We are stepping toward this goal now, by using JSON output as the basis of release notes for the upcoming FFOS launch (bug 869495). It's been a while since this bug was updated with any content. Here's a quick review: * We're building a system designed to publish general content. It's called Nucleus. It lives on the PaaS. It's under heavy development right now. * Nucleus is a Playdoh project, and one of its applications is called RNA. RNA is an application to publish release notes specifically. It is a part of Nucleus, and it also has some components installed in Bedrock. It is under heavy development right now. * We're aiming to have an end-to-end demo of this on 2013-12-10, when the next version of Firefox is released, and we aim to make the system live in time for the Firefox release on 2014-01-21. * The small team working on this meets in IRC at #nucleus and has weekly meetings. * The code is https://github.com/mozilla/nucleus and https://github.com/mozilla/rna * The servers (right now) are https://bedrock.paas.allizom.org/en-US/ (bedrock demo instance) and https://nucleus.paas.allizom.org/rna/ (rna dev)
