Originally, I created this bug as a way to track features that myself and PM wanted in a redesigned RDM (that included multiple viewports).  Along the way, we ended up first rewriting RDM with a single viewport using a different project process with help from Marco, and this bug was mostly ignored.

I have now reorganized the dependencies to be more focused on just the feature of multiple viewports.  This is a good place to add new bugs for things like telemetry to track the feature's impact, marketing to advertise the feature, etc.
