Sort your mail by the junk mail column.
Change the junk status of some messages.
Click on the junk column to resort (and click again to put back in the original
sort order).
Expected behavior:
After the first click on the junk sort column, it should recalc the order so
that it moves the messages that have been changed into the appropriate blocks of
junk/notjunk - if you click on the junk column again to the same order the
messages you changed should have moved.
Actual Behavior:
The messages maintain their original sort order, regardless of junk/not junk status.
Workaround:
If you click on a different column, then back on the junk sort column, it will
recalc properly.

Summary: Junk mail column doesn't recalculate sort on second click → Junk mail column doesn't recalculate sort
Same problem in some other sorts, labels for instance. (I know there's a bug for
labels, not sure if there are other similar bugs.)

In case this isn't duped, could we change platform to All. I see this on Linux, too.
confirm the bug on windows / Mozilla 1.3a
and confirm it with any field to be sorted against.
What helps is:
- sort by label
- change labels
- resort by label doesn't work
- sort by date instead
- sort by label again
- you're fine !!
it's a workaround - but a kind of ugly one

Not every field is a problem; sort-by-flag will re-sort on the column header (as
well as reverse the sort) if various messages have their flag toggled.
Updating summary; I couldn't find the older, label-specific bug Laurel mentioned
in comment 1, but there's a new one about labels that I'm going to dupe to this.

In fact you can sort by junk status ... however you can't do it by clicking on
the column header as you would expect.
To sort by junk status.
Click: View - Sort by - Junk Status
Voila, that works ... however ... this still doesn't change the fact that the
GUI doesn't work as expect, but at least the underlying sorting code works, and
it is just a GUI implementation deal (not that those are ever easy, especially
since I understand that just one person is responsible for all the GUI work ...

Still happens on Mozilla 1.4, Mac OS X. If sorting by junk mail status worked,
I would use it to make training the junk mail filter easier. One could sort by
junk mail and easily unmark the messages that weren't true junk. Sorting again
would leave the true junk messages in an easily deleteable or movable block.

Regarding comments made by Dave Evans almost a year ago, 'View | Sort By | Junk
Status' does NOT sort correctly on subsequent sort updates. In other words, you
get the same incorrect behavior as when you click on the junk status column header.

But most columns don't contain user-manipulable data; read, junk, label and flag
do.
