Steps to reproduce:
Device: Mi 9
Android: 11
Miui 12.5.2
Firefox: 127.0.1
- Open any video on YouTube (e.x https://youtu.be/fo3QuvC-Koo)
- Tap fullscreen mode button
your screen will be auto-rotated horizontally
Actual results:
- You got white line on the position of vertical status bar, cut horizontal status bar and not disappearing nav bar.
If you will interact with status bar (e.x open notifications), nav bar and status bars will hide. White line will stay on it's place
Video of the issue on 127.0.1: https://youtu.be/V0uJ2olfu_c
Expected results:
Video should open in full screen
Nav bar and status bar hide
No line on the position of (status bar for vertical mode)
Firefox 117.0.1 is the lastest version without this bug, newest versions (118-127) have issue with fullscreen mode
Video of the correct work on 117.0.1: https://youtu.be/57Ia5bEb3wY

Lyn, thanks for reporting this issue. The screenshots and knowing that version 118 was the first to have the issue are very helpful!
Mike, I suspect this bug is a regression from your fix for video notch bug 1849009 in Fenix 118.

Hi,
I found more of these issues reported, all but one are with Xiaomis with Android 11 (one has Android 10):
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1882672
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1870658
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1902917
And I started closing the newer ones as duplicate of 1870658 as the oldest one opened I found. Please see if this one should be closed in favor of that or should this one be kept.
I did reproduce this issue also with a Xiaomi Mi11 Lite (Android 11).
Tested build: Nightly 129.0a1 from 2024-06-27.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Fenix::Media' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

:tthibaud could this be triaged for severity?
Will this be looked at in an upcoming release, wondering what we should track for release.

Is the bug reproducible on non-Xiaomi devices?
(Lorand Janos, maybe?)

I tested the following devices:
- LG Nexus 5 (Android 6.0.1) - On first launch, the nav bar and status bar remained, but from the second time it wasn't reproducible anymore.
- Huawei P20 (Android 10) - The issue was not reproducible.
- Xiaomi Redmi 9C NFC (Android 10) - The issue was reproducible every time.
- Xiaomi Mi11 Lite (Android 11) - The issue was reproducible every time.
- Vivo Y22S (Android 12) - On first launch, there was a white bar displayed, but from the second time it wasn't reproducible anymore.
- Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (Android 14) - The issue was not reproducible.
- Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 - Folded and Unfolded (Android 14) - The issue was not reproducible.
- Google Pixel 7 (Android 15 Beta 3) - The issue was not reproducible.
Tested builds:
- Latest Nightly 130.0a1 from 2024-07-30.
- Beta 129.0b7-129.0b9.
- Nightly 128.0a1.

Why "fix optional"?

Hey :Lorand Janos,
I finally got access to a Xiaomi Redmi 9C NFC, Android 10. I cannot reproduce the issue on Fenix Nightly, neither on Fenix Release.
Can you still reproduce the issue on the Xiaomi Redmi 9C?
Thanks a lot for your help on that!

Hey :Titouan Thibaud,
Sorry about the late reply here, I can no longer reproduce this on the same device (Xiaomi Redmi 9C NFC with Android 10), on the latest Nightly (133.0a1 from 2024-10-04).
I also retested the other device on which I reliably, constantly reproduced this issue on earlier builds: Xiaomi Mi11 Lite (Android 11), also on the latest Nightly build, also couldn't reproduce the issue anymore.

Hey John, we cannot reproduce this, but speculate it could either be a Fenix-specific issue with the toolbar or a media issue? Can you take a look?

Same problem here, also on mi9, the temporary "fix" that i found is go to device configs, notch configs and set to hide the notch, but its not as good as a real fix cause im very used to the notch settings on my phone
