Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20021003
I created a folder named ~FromHome~. It worked fine. I created a filter and it
moved a bunch of email into the new folder.
When I restarted Mozilla, the folder did not appear. The files are in my home
dir. The filter complained that the folder did not exist anymore.
May be recoverable by renaming the email files....I will try it.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create ~folderName~
2. Put some mail in it.
3. Restart Mozilla
Actual Results:
The folder and mail are gone.
Expected Results:
Disallow creating a folder with tildas in the name.
I lost data...emails.

Why Do you think that this is related to ldap ?

All right, maybe mail database is a better component.

it's not a mail database issue; it's a mail backend bug. It's probably a dup of
the other bugs having to do with invalid characters in local folder names.

David, I also believed so.
But I could not find any other valid mail bug which includes "~" in summary and
symptom relates to folder name.
Next 15 bug found.

And "~" related problem is not listed in dependency tree for meta bug 124287.
As far as I remember, "~" problem was mentioned only by bug 94124 comment #12,
which is "#" problem, and bug 124287 comment #13, which is the meta bug.
So I list up this bug in meta bug 124287.
Following is my test result on Thunderbird latest-0.9 2004/11/18 build(Win-2K).
(1) ~FIRST => OK (first tilde)
(2) LAST~ => Disapeared after restart (last tilde)
Internal path for "LAST~" folder is ;
mailbox:/C|/ ....... /Mail/test.test.test/Test.sbd/LAST~
Then resource under it becomes mailbox: .... /LAST~/xxxx.
But "~/" is current working directry(on Unix)...
Anyway, this is "New" bug, although very very old problem.
