When one right clicks bookmarks, a context menu pops up with URL-related options. But, when one right clicks a history entry listed in the History menu, no such options appear. What I propose is for relevant context menu options to appear when right clicking the history entries in the History menu, such as: Open in New Window, Open in New Tab, etc. This would also help users who happen to have their middle click functionality disabled, unavailable, or assigned to alternative uses. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Right click on history entries in the History menu Actual Results: A right click does not produce a context menu with options relevant to opening a URL. Expected Results: A context menu opens up with options relevant to opening a URL.
Let's not forget Copy and Copy Link Location. This might have a shot at 1.1 if this is as easy as I think it is...

Maybe a "Bookmark this page" would make sense too... What i like is that the del button deletes entries ... so a cut/copy/paste/delete-combination would be nice if this aint overkill. I'd like "Copy Link Location" too (instead of clicking, pressing Esc and copying the url), like Aaron said.
'Go' Changed to "History" in Summary
Summary: Add a right click context menu to Go menu → Add a right click context menu to History menu
(In reply to comment #4) > 'Go' Changed to "History" in Summary Aint this even more confusing? Maybe it should be called location-bar-dropdown-list :D
(In reply to comment #5) > (In reply to comment #4) > > 'Go' Changed to "History" in Summary > Aint this even more confusing? Maybe it should be called > location-bar-dropdown-list :D > Wait, no, this bug refers to the History Menu, which was previously the Go Menu. If you want to have a similar feature added to the address bar drop down menu, that would be a new feature request bug.
I'm going to take this, might be a while but I'll work on it.

IMO, when right clicking items in the History/Go menus, the context menus should be identical to if you had right clicked that item in the History menus. In addition, history items should be dragable but cannot be reordered, like in the history sidebar.
Given that this bug has been open for 5 years I guess it's not getting much priority, but I find this annoying too. It can't be too hard to have a subset of the context menu for bookmarks available when you use the History menu item. Just having Open, Open in new tab, Open in new window would be enough. Currently you can only replace the content of your currently active tab.

It'd be nice to have a right click "Forgot This Page"

Jared, why the change? This bug is about right-clicking the items of the History menu (which currently shows toolbars menu), not the Location bar drop-down (which does nothing).
Sorry, I thought that it was actually talking about the Location bar drop-down. I missed comment #6.

Comment on attachment 8346516 [details] Wrong type of menu for this item User unable to copy link location due to wrong menu being inherited. He should be given the same right click menu that he gets in the main history list, even though he is operating on the mini (HARDWIRED) 15 entry mini history list.
Gosh seems like I ran into this not to far back once before. Never mind then.

I can still reproduce this issue in menu bar

Thanks for mentioning it. Apparently the context menu for items under History is identical to the context menu for items under View.

This is confusing, the opening comment speaks about the Go menu, and then there's a bunch of outdated screenshots, please file a new bug.

Why don't I just reopen this, edit the opening comment, and attach updated screenshots? It's absurd that this is still an issue 17 years later, but it's definitely still present.

Please do not. We have asked for a new bug because this bug in itself is too confusing and references multiple different items and has obsolete discussions. It is much better in this case to start with a clean bug - the age of a bug does not affect when it will be fixed.

Ok. Here's a new enhancement request: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1719326
