User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8.0.7) Gecko/20060909 Firefox/1.5.0.7 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8.0.7) Gecko/20060909 Firefox/1.5.0.7 The date/time picker that is invoked when you add the "Choose Date" button onto your panel and left click it, freezes during certain operations. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Add "Choose Date" button to toolbar, and left click. 2. Move left and right, to sort through the months, notice no failure in operation. 3. Now click either the month or the year, to get a dropdown. This is the behaviour one usually gets in Sunbird now. 4. Click the arrows or the month OR the other dropdown i.e. if you clicked month, now click year. 5. You will notice that it no longer works.
Please specify if you are using Sunbird or Lightning and what Version/BuildId.
Confirmed with: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; pl; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20061006 Sunbird/0.3
Depends on bug 348245?
Sorry, forgot. May I just add that when clicking the "Choose Date" button, one must click the dropdown box to get the date/time picker. I'm running the latest release 0.3 Final
Confirmed (Sunbird 0.3 on Windows XP). There's no message in the error console.

Ever confirmed: true
Summary: sunbird choose date picker freezes → Date picker in "Go to Date" dialog freezes
Oddly works for me now, apart from adding events and importing a few .ics files. Nothing else has changed from previous configuration.
Broken again, cannot see any pattern.
Works for me using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/2006111906 Calendar/0.4a1
(In reply to comment #8) > Works for me using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.9a1) > Gecko/2006111906 Calendar/0.4a1 > It doesn't work for me using the same build
If you have trouble reproducing the bug, just fiddle about with the Date-Time Picker, close it, select a date. Close the whole dialog then re-open and repeat. You will see it gets stuck, usually it gets stuck with the steps to reproduce in 1(In reply to comment #8) > Works for me using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.9a1) > Gecko/2006111906 Calendar/0.4a1 > If it still works, keep fiddling about with the Go To Date/Date-Time Picker, close it re-open it after selecting a date. It will freeze eventually, always does. Would like to see this fixed if the bug or bugs can be tracked down.
Freeze reproduced by 1. Go > Date 2. Click drop-down button [v] 3. Click month name (month-list popup appears: do NOT click it) 4. Click year (month-list popup disappears) After this, the date picker is somewhat frozen. Workaround: 5. Click drop-down button [v] (only way to get minimonth to disappear) 6a. Click close button [x] in upper right corner of window (dialog closes). or 6b. Click drop-down button [v] (minimonth reappears), then pick date normally. Note: before doing 6b the following fail: 6c. fails: Click ok (month-list pops up even though minimonth is not visible!) 6d. fails: Click cancel (year-list pops up even as minimonth is not visible!) This occurs in either the go-to-date picker or an event-dialog picker (so removed "Go to date dialog" from summary) Related: Bug 286751/Bug 29703, Bug 286747 Maybe patch in bug 29703 will fix it.

Filled bug 364034
(In reply to comment #11) > Maybe patch in bug 29703 will fix it. Typo? Bug 29703 was fixed six years ago and don't have a patch attached.
(Sorry, bug 286751 depends on bug 279703, not 29703): Related: Bug 286751/Bug 279703, Bug 286747 Maybe patch in bug 279703 will fix it.
I confirm this bug for Ubuntu 6.10 (Gnome) with 'Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; nl; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20070208 Sunbird/0.3.1'
OS: Windows XP → All
Hardware: PC → All
Bug 382055 is a new testcase for this bug then. As Comment #11 says, this also occurs in the "Edit Event" dialog. Sorry for the dupe, thought they were un-connected.
Flags: blocking-calendar0.7?
Still present in Sunbird 0.5 on Windows XP SP2.
We need this fixed at all costs in 0.7. It is critical UI. Volunteers, don't be shy about stepping up and taking it. :-) Marking blocking.

Issue is now WORKSFORME using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.9a8pre) Gecko/2007082906 Calendar/0.6a1. Most probably fixed by Bug 279703. -> Issue only exists in the MOZILLA_1_8_BRANCH builds.

Bug still exists. Sometimes it works, sometimes it freezes. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.12pre) Gecko/20080206 Calendar/0.8pre 2008020618

Not going to happen for 0.8.

This bug has been eradicated for me using the original steps to reproduce. Windows XP SP. Sunbird 0.7. If that's any light at the end of the tunnel. However, just because selecting Month and Year works fine. If you then select a day, it will freeze up still.
Voting for WONTFIX. 1.8 branch is abandoned.
Since this works in latest comm-central builds, marking WFM.
