as mentioned in 158337...

while at foss.in Prasad pointed me at
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q=padma&status=4

This might be an interesting extension to get in the hands of some testers and
suggest to general users in several languages if the extension works well and
has no side effects.

I tried installing padma and visting http://www.eenadu.net
With padma installed the site looks much better, but we need native language
people to find if there are remaining bugs.

Lets try and get as many people as possible installing padma and follow up with
comments on if it corrects the problems on eenadu and other dynamic font sites.

If it looks good we could consider ways to increase the visibility of padma in localization versions where it would have the greatest impact.

In the long the long run we need to evangelize sites to migrate their internal
publishing systems to Unicode, but until Prasad also pointed me at this
demo at http://uni.medhas.org and the Project Page for this service at
http://unigateway.sourceforge.net/

It's an interesting transcoding idea to make many sites look better and it
sounds like it has gotten many sites to start to take some action to convert to
unicode.
