Details
There should be the ability to write javascript filters (as macros). These
filters would act just like c++ filter code, but would be possible for users to
enter through the Macro IDE - and reference in the filters box. These macros
would called the registered function that does the events. These macros would be
written in the IDE.

fixing summary.
To clarify the difference between this bug and bug 59341, this is a bug for
having an entire filter (criteria AND actions) written in JavaScript

Instead of both the action AND criteria portion of the filters. This bug
is only for macros (javascript programmable and storable scripts for the end
user) for the criteria section. It would send the action to the registered
action for the macro. Basically, one would hit new filter - choose the criteria
to be the macro, then choose the action to be whatever. When the script is run,
it would call the registered action just like a normal criteria code would.

I agreed with alecf that I should add individual bugs for each format. This
format will consist of the following...
"if <Macro Filter> returns a match"
This filter will run a macro filter (javascript only for now) - that will pass
all the matches to the registered Action for this filter.
For Macro Filters, there will be a drop down box that you can choose the macros.
Please refer to bug 59335 for info on Macros.
This will give the user more functionality in filters. IE - they can create
their own criteria this way.
Summary: Javascript filter criteria (not actions) → Macro criteria (not actions) as one additional criteria format.
