Bug 103712 is a dup of this bug (or vice versa), but the reporter of that bug 
is hiding behind the address "nobody@mozilla.org" and has said not to start a 
discussion in the bug.  One solution to that problem would be to turn this from 
a 1.0 bug into a metameta bug (perhaps "general performance areas" or "[meta] 
performance tracking bugs").
