Steps to reproduce:

Attachment: Shows that when the unified inbox is selected, the list of messages disappears WHEN the mouse cursor (trackpad) moves over the list of messages (not initially)

Delete the smart folders from your profile, the unified view got corrupt:
In Help > Troubleshooting Information, open the profile folder, in there Mail. Delete "smart mailboxes".

Now that I've bundled all the reports I've seen lately to this bug, does anyone have steps to get Thunderbird into the situation where the unified view is corrupt? I'll shout them a beer!

Can't reproduce it, but can tell you that it was resolved by removing ALL the smart folders.   I may have missed one the first time I tried to fix the issue.
