If I have Open Tabs instead of windows for Enter in URL bar set, and I press Control enter, nothing happens. What I'd like to see happen is a new tab appear. Cmd+enter, ****+enter and Option+enter all open the URL int eh current window
Confirmed on Win32.
The Windows version of this bug is bug 50255. I'm not sure that they're related.

No...it works too well! On Win2K build 2002020406 When I select the "Open tabs instead of windows for 'Control+Enter in the URL bar' under the "Tabbed Browsing" preference widgit, every time I hit enter (without holding control) I get a new tab with the contents of my desired URL but the URL itself disappears. probably related to: bug 118661 perhaps a child of: bug 50255 best wishes.
It does NOT work as expected in Windows NT, Mozilla On Win2K build 2002020406 1) Pressing Control+enter does nothing 2) Pressing enter it opens the URL in a new tab (what was not intended, this should be the behaviour if you have pressed control+enter.) Greetings

Actually, This bug was filed after the patch to fix bug 105537 went in. It is similar to bug 50255 where ctrl enter didn't fire on Win32.

Marcus, can you still reproduce this problem using RC1?
The Preferences item now says "command enter" but pressing command enter loads a URL in the current window even with the prefernece checked. Still a problem in Carbon 1.0 RC1

Confirming using FizzillaCFM/2002041712 (RC1). Setting the "Open tabs instead of windows for" option to "Command+Enter in the Location bar" and subsequently typing a URL in the Location bar followed by the Command+Enter key sequence does not result in a new tab being created.

It works just fine for me on my WinXP machine, however it still doesn't work (on RC3) in OS X.
