SeaMonkey 2.2 Beta 1 builds will be created today and the milestone needs relnotes when it appears.

Hrm, that won't help much. The builds will have "2.2" set as their version, so their relnote URLs will point to releases/seamonkey2.2/ - without a "b1"...

Yes we'll need to fix that, and we'll need to skim/check the relnotes known issues for stuff that is no longer an issue in 2.2

I assume this will be the case for any future beta?

I tend to consider this a bad decision (made by the FF guys, I take it?).

I already did that, at least for the things where I added "will be fixed for the next release" or similar in the 2.1 relnotes.

Yes, what's now betas are just what RCs have been in the past (both quality-wise and in terms of code churn). Nothing should really change feature-wise between betas (or finals, at that).

Adding of new things should always only happen on trunk now, on aurora is the time for not working features to be deactivated and incompatibilities to be fixed. Beta phase is for minor polish and stability fixes only, basically.

There should be no need to change anything except the "Known Issues" section (perhaps a "this is in beta phase" warning) between different betas and final. I thought you would like that. ;-)

We need to add any bugs to the relnotes when final is near (currently they serve as b1 relnotes and we don't want to confuse anyone, do we?) that landed after b1. As of now, those are:

1. Bug 665336 - SeaMonkey clears all LSOs (Flash Cookies) when clearing cache only
2. Bug 657214 - The Composer status bar doesn't display the correct status
3. Bug 652318 - Email sender is displayed as quoted when name in from is quoted

Bug 665538 - "Can't paste url into link window, right-click context menu is missing" affects SeaMonkey 2.2 beta 2 but not 2.1 release = regression.

When using Insert > Link, there is no longer a right-click menu to paste a Link Location from the clipboard. Workaround: Click into the Link Location field and use Ctrl+V to paste the web link.
