The idea is to separate the Thunderbird strings from the Firefox strings.

  • Create of "comm-strings" and "comm-strings-quarantine" repositories
  • Create a monorepo for the translated strings†
  • Port mozxchannel mach command and associated Taskcluster jobs
  • Pontoon:
    • Merge "Lightning/Calendar" project into "Thunderbird"‡
    • Set up Thunderbird project to work from "comm-strings"
  • L10n repackaging work
    • Needs to get toolkit strings from Firefox's l10n repositories
    • Needs to work with the Thunderbird l10n monorepo

† A monorepo is preferred for working with Pontoon
‡ This is to get rid of the need to have intermediary repositories for Pontoon since two projects cannot use the same "strings" repository
