• Does this mean "shipping" the site permission add-on API?
• This probably needs Firefox-specific rather than MDN docs (i.e. not something me/MDN team would create)
• Is it still possible to disable the permission? (I assume so).

MDN docs team authors:

• There is a useful summary of what this is all about (from [:nchevobbe] ) in https://github.com/mdn/content/issues/21951#issuecomment-1299802088
• I've added dev-doc-needed keyword as this MAY affect the browser compatibility notes for secure context in Navigator.requestMIDIAccess (as set in https://github.com/mdn/browser-compat-data/pull/18115). I don't think it will but it depends on the answers to the above.
• It might be that we can add a link to firefox specific docs about Site permissions in BCD for this - if something exists.
