With the behavioral changes that we are making in the bugs that are blocking bug 1665353, we should accompany these changes with a light visual refresh of the bookmarks toolbar.

One of the things we're considering is to add hover cards to the bookmarks on the toolbar.

If you do this, please let it be something that can be disabled.

I have never found thumbnails useful anywhere but image viewers, Firefox is already made heavy enough by the extension load-out I have, and, with Tree Style Tab sometimes bugging out and the proposal to add built-in sidebar tabs still on the drawing board, I use tab tooltips heavily.

I really don't need a bunch of thumbnails I don't use increasing either memory pressure or the disk I/O involved in displaying a tooltip. (Bear in mind that both I and my 70-year-old mother still use at least one machine each where our user profiles are stored on rotating media.)

Thank you for the comment and general ping on this bug. I hadn't updated the bug yet but we decided to remove thumbnails from the plans for this work.
