While working on Proton, please take in account also https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1579348 for convergent devices and mobile phones.
I'm fully aware, that when Photon will be correctly implemented, it won't make disappear all issues for touchscreen or small screen devices, but I believe that considering convergent devices while developing this theme could contribute to better user experience on these phones with minimum effort spent.
Just saw a really good suggestion for Proton refresh on reddit, please consider! https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/kr7vxx/request_for_proton_refresh_active_tab_indicator/

There was a Slashdot story about this refresh at https://news.slashdot.org/story/21/01/03/0516247/mozilla-is-working-on-a-firefox-design-refresh which generated many comments and opinions for developers to consider.
The requirement for people to create blocking bugs to make suggestions on Bugzilla seems like a unnecessary hurtle to user feedback.

Bugzilla isn't the place to give user feedback. We have a mailinglist, forum and Matrix chat for that.
Also, the idea of creating a separated bug is to avoid spamming everyone who follow the meta bug like you unintentionally did :).
