User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; InfoPath.2) Build Identifier: Thunderbird version 2.0.0.6 (20070728) When I try to import my address book from Eudora, I receive a message that no address book was found. Also, not all my mail was imported. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Tools, Import 2.Address Books 3.Eudora Actual Results: Address book not found. Expected Results: My Eudora Address Book imported. Note: about 98% of my mail was imported, and my pop and smtp, etc settings all imported from Drive E: except my address book. My Eudora program is located on drive E: and not Drive C: My hard drive is partitioned into Drive C: and Drive E:. My programs are located on Drive E:. Could this be the problem? If so, how do I fix it?
Following are currently open, import related bugs which are open, "Eudora" in summary, and updated within one year. Are there bugs for your problems? Or your problem is new one? >(Settings) > Bug 378044 eudora import: secure TLS SSL settings not imported >(Mail Box) > Bug 255065 no migration occurs for Eudora on Mac OS X > Bug 271403 When migrating from Eudora 5.1 all emails in Out box are placed in Unsent Messages > Bug 301188 Import Eudora mail fails to find attachments in other directories > Bug 304163 Thunderbird does not migrate mail from mailbox folders in Eudora - only recognizes 1st level mailbox .toc and .mbx files > Bug 304825 import from opera via eudora's mbx files is not exact and fails > Bug 329036 While migrating from Eudora 5.1, Thunderbird would not bring real old attachments. > Bug 331708 When importing folders from Eudora, Thunderbird ignores folders whose names begin with a space > Bug 372714 Mailbox in Eudora 6 with comma in mailbox name not imported > Bug 379047 Mailboxes in Eudora 6.x that begin with one or more blanks are NOT imported > Bug 391223 Eudora 5.2 outbox not imported >(Address book) > Bug 395808 Importing from Eudora: When Eudora AB can't be found, manual selection method fails >(Filter) > Bug 359255 Importers: Import Filters from current Eudora Members of qualcomm have joined in Penelope project, and many improvements seems have bee achieved in Eurora support area. But many problems looks to still remain in import of Eudra data. I think trying of Eudora 8.0.0b1(Penelope,Eudora based on Tb) is one of best workarounds currently available, if import by Thunderbird fails. Possible workaround: 1. Start Tb or Eudra 8.0.0b1 with "-P" parameter, and create new profile for Eudora beta 2. Start Eudra 8.0.0b1 with the newly created profile 3. Import address book/mails of Eudora by Eudra 8.0.0b1 4. Define an address book on Tb, and replace abook-X.mab for the address book of Tb by xxxx.mab which is imported by Eudora 8.0.0b1. (or export by Eudora 8.0.0b1, then import by Tb) 5. Copy mail box file(no file extension) from mail directory for Eudora 8.0.0b1 to mail directory for Thunderbird Note: prefs.js of Tb can be corrupted by Eudra 8.0.0b1 if same profile is used by Eudra 8.0.0b1(See Bug 394944). So you'd better to create new profile for Eudra 8.0.0b1.
Problem should be fixed by the Eudora (Penelope) importers. Will mark this a dupe of the main Penelope bug.
