This metabug tracks work that applies to about:newtab for Proton design work and related bugs that are out of scope for MR1.

Hi Jim-- I stumbled across https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1671177 which seems to be the original meta bug for the redesign work Erica and Prathiksha had done for MR1. Do those remaining bugs need to be folded in here?

At some point we should revisit those remaining items and re-triage them. A lot has shifted since that work so I wouldn't take those bugs at face value at this point.
