User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061010 Firefox/2.0
Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.6 (20070728)
When I manually mark a message as junk mail, Thunderbird fails to move it automatically to the Junk folder for that account. The option to do that is enabled in Account Settings, and it used to work perfectly in TB 1.5, so I think this is new to 2.0. It appears as though mail that is automatically detected as junk is correctly moved.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Mark a message as junk mail
2.
3.
Actual Results:
It wasn't moved to the Junk folder.
Expected Results:
Move the message to the Junk folder.
Just updated to TB 2.0, no special theme.
The same I have on the Sea Monkey 1.1.4, although in the Preferences is set, that the marked messages have to be moved to Junk folder, nothing happens. Only help is to use Tools and Delete manualy marked messages by this.
Strange, in the older versions not appeared.
Maybe it has something to do with not working (sometimes) OK button in the "Mail and Newsgroup settings..". I have mentioned it in another bug.

Same phenomenon was reported to Bug 324777 Comment #34, and it seemed to be
caused by reset of some Junk related settings when upgrade(See Bug 324777
Comment #37).
And other bug for same phenomenon was opened after your report - Bug 394062.
What is set in Junk mail filter related settings? Is there any setting which is
reset?
(1) Tools/Options/Privacy/Junk tab
(2) Account Settings/Junk Settings

If some Junk mail setting is reset in your environment, it is possibly caused by Bug 339275 when upgrading (Junk setting design was changed by Tb 2).

Updated from Tb 1.5 to Tb 2.0.0.6? Or from Tb 2.0.0.x to Tb 2.0.0.6?

Updated from what version of Seamonkey to Semonkey 1.1.4?
What is set in following Junk related setting?
(A) Edit/Preferences/Mail&Newgroups/Junk Mail
(B) Account Settings/Junk Settings

Updated from 1.1.3 but I think it has functioned some time and stopped maybe after some setting change.
(A) When I mark - hooked, Move them to... clicked, Mark messages hooked, enable junk filter hooked.
(B)Junk setings -Enable adaptive - not clicked, but even it is clicked, it does not help, do not mark mail.. -hooked, move new jung messages to .. hooked and "Junk" folder clicked.
Automatically delete junk...hooked.
The mail filters work, the reason for switching off the adaptive mail was, that the junk mail has wrongly identified non-spam mails as spam. We have Spam Assasin on the Mail server and it works much better.
So thats. If you need more, contact me.
I have forgotten to add maybe some interesting aspect. When I try to confirm the changes of the Mail and Newsgroup Account settings by clicking to OK, the window is not disappearing, only pressing Cancel helps. I have written it as an other bug to forum too. Maybe those things go together.
Regards,
pronajem
And even one aspect- the mail and newsgroups account seting /Jung settings -the window right from Trust junk mail headers has significantly smaller height than the window above and does not contain anything to select. I would like to add there the SpamAssasin, but there is nothing to choose, even I have trust junk mail headers hooked. So I hope that is all,
pronajem.

Sounds to be Bug 368617. Is there any error message in Error Console?
See Bug 368617 Comment #19 for problem report for 2.0.0.6.

Sounds similar problem to Bug 273216, Bug 344247, Bug 379884 and so on.
Do you set larger font size than standard size for Windows UI? If so, read Bug 379844 and set smaller one, as workaround, in order to complete Account Settings.
Anyway, inconsistency seems to be exists in your prefs.js, and a part of the inconsistency looks to be produced by upgrade of Tb/Sm.
Keep backup of current prefs.js(backup of profile directory is better) of both Thunderbird and Seamonkey, then try to make Account Settings consistent thru UI.
(Check all account settings, and touch some fields(e.g. aaa=>aaax=>aaa), and correct inappropriate/inccorect settings if exists, and save chages.)

Yes, I am using 125% font size for the GUI of windows. I will try it.

I have done it and find some deeper info about the problem behaviour.
I have mentioned, that when there is a different settings for the Local Folders and Current folder for Junk, there is combination when the window could not be closed as stated above, but a straight rule up to now I have not. I have sent you a personal email with the attachment with the Junk mail setting screen with the strange dimensions, the function does not offer anything and seems to be wrong or not working.

Adding words in summary to replect problem of "Account Settings can't be saved".
To zetka@volny.cz(bug opener):
Do you still have problem of "Account Settings can't be saved"?
Summary: Junk mail doesn't get moved to junk when manually marked as junk (after upgrade to Tb 2.0.0.6) → Junk mail doesn't get moved to junk when manually marked as junk (after upgrade to Tb 2.0.0.6), and Account Setting can't be saved

I not have too much time to test all the possibilities, but after upgrading to 1.1.5pre and some setting changes I am not able to get the error with saving the window, the problem of not moving the messages still persists.
Maybe I am stupid, but there are three places where you can change the Junk mail behaviour:
1) in standart Preferences
2) in the Mail and News preferences for the "main" folder
3) in the same place for the Local folder
I have not found info how to set this correctly, and a certain difference in settings in those three places leads to the problem with closing the window.

It's good. Removing "Account Settings can't be saved" from summary.
> 1) in standart Preferences
> 2) in the Mail and News preferences for the "main" folder
> 3) in the same place for the Local folder
You are right. All Junk related settings in these 3 places should be set properly. But it seems to be set somehow inconsistently when upgrade in some special conditions. As far as I know, Bug 324777 Comment #35 and Bug 324777 Comment #37, your case, and Bug 394062 are for phenomenon of "Manual mark as Junk doesn't move" due to unwanted/corrupted settings.
In any of above three places, breaking of one of next(when option appears) may cause problem.
(A) Junk filtering is enabled
(B) Junk move related folder setting is proper (Junk folder path related
setting should be proper, even when "automatic Junk move" is off)
(C) "Move manually marked as Junk to Junk folder" is enabled
Check these settings.

Still not moved in Thunderbird 3 Beta 2
In the global preferences I have checked
[X] When I mark a message as junk:
(O) Move them to the account's "Junk" folder
( ) Delete them
In the account junk settings I have checked:
[ ] Enable adaptive junk mail controls for this account
:
[X] Move new junk messages to:
( ) "Junk folder on: [...]
(O) Other: [Junk on XXX]
I don't want it to mark mails as junk automatically, thus I have not checked the first option; I'll do this myself manually. XXX is the name of my server account and Junk is a folder that exists on this server (IMAP folder, it's an IMAP server).
When I select a message in my inbox and select to mark it as junk, the junk marker is set, but the message is moved nowhere.

TGOS, read Comment #13 and Bug 268101 Comment #7, please. This bug is for problem that Junk filter related settings is somehow changed to inconsistent or to setting like above, upon upgrade from "Tb doesn't support per account Junk setting" to "Tb supports per account Junk setting".
AFAIR, bug for UI change request like Bug 268101 Comment #7 and design change request(remove dependency of "move by manual mark as Junk" to "automatic adaptive Junk filtering") are already opened. Search via "Advacnced Search", please.

@WADA: Okay, I will search for this dependency somehow... just one note (probably does not belong here, but before I stop "spamming" this bug with useless information): I have *not* upgraded. I deleted everything of Thunderbird 2 (the app, the profile folder, the cached mails, all preferences, everything) and installed 3 beta 2 and had it recreate everything... just mentioning that as many comments talk about "upgrade", your one as well.

This also affects SeaMonkey 2.0.3 (fresh install on Windows XP).

I confirm it too, SeaMonkey, appeared on 2.0.3 I suppose that it has appeared with some Junk setting although all brought to above given state, updating to 2.0.4 did not help. Still needed to delete the Junk mails manually, although the automatic setting is selected.

This bug is for issue when migration from Tb 1.5/Sm 1.1.3 to Tb 2.0.0.x/Sm 1.1.4.
- Worked well when Tb 1.5 / Sm 1.1.3.
- Doesn't work well after upgrade to Tb 2.0.0.x / Sm 1.1.4,
even though user didn't touch Junk move related settings upon upgrade.
This bug is never for general phenomenon of "Junk mail is not moved as you expected".
Xavier Vincent and zetka@volny.cz, please READ comment #17.
To poker@nalsoft.com(bug opener) and zetka@volny.cz(comment #1 poster):
Do you still have problem of comment #0 or comment #1 due to upgrade to Tb 2.0.0.x / Sm 1.1.4?
As Tb 3.0.x / Sm 2.0.x is already released, I think there is no reason to keep this bug open.
Do you agree with closing as INCOMPLETE this bug, in order to avoid confusion by some bug readers?
