There are a few things I need help with:
- In raw-ng-list.txt, the descriptions start at 37 characters in, on each line. mozilla.feedback.thunderbird.prerelease exceeds that.
- Ebay Companion doesn't seem to be listed on Hendrix. Is it coming from a different Hendrix installation?
- Is there a homepage for mozpad?
- Not sure what the definition of Mobile is.
Other than that, here's what I have written (typed) down:
mozilla.announce.prerelease Announcements of Mozilla product pre-releases.
mozilla.dev.mdc.ja For discussions about Japanese content on <a href="http://developer.mozilla.org/ja/">Mozilla Developer Center</a>.
mozilla.feedback.companion.ebay Automated output of Ebay Companion feedback from <a href="http://hendrix.mozilla.org/">Hendrix</a>. (another Hendrix?)
mozilla.feedback.firefox Automated output of Firefox feedback from <a href="http://hendrix.mozilla.org/">Hendrix</a>.
mozilla.feedback.firefox.prerelease Automated output of Firefox pre-release feedback from <a href="http://hendrix.mozilla.org/">Hendrix</a>.
mozilla.feedback.thunderbird Automated output of Thunderbird feedback from <a href="http://hendrix.mozilla.org/">Hendrix</a>.
mozilla.support.planning For discussions about improving Firefox Support.
mozilla.events For discussions about Mozilla events.
mozilla.community.mozpad For discussions of the Mozilla Platform Application Developers Community (there a homepage for this?)
mozilla.dev.platforms.linux For coordinating more involvement from the Linux distros and community. (not sure about this definition)
mozilla.dev.l10n.in For discussions of the Indian localization of Mozilla projects.
mozilla.dev.l10n.de For discussions of the German localization of Mozilla projects.
mozilla.dev.l10n.fa For discussions of the Persian localization of Mozilla projects.
mozilla.dev.tech.js-engine.rhino For discussions about <a href="../rhino/">Rhino</a>. Implementation of JavaScript written entirely in Java.
mozilla.web-developers.general For discussions about making web sites render correctly in Mozilla browsers.
mozilla.dev.platforms.mobile (not sure)http://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile
mozilla.community.enterprise For discussions about <a href="http://wiki.mozilla.org/Enterprise">Enterprise</a> issues.

I'll create a patch without mozilla.feedback.thunderbird.prerelease.

Some more thoughts, this about placement:
- mozilla.feedback is placed under "Projectwide Forums". m.f.firefox and m.f.firefox.prerelease, and their Thunderbird equivalent are obviously not project wide; so it might be better to put those under Application Development.
- are mozilla.dev.platforms.linux and mobile ports? IOW, should they be put under Ports to other OSes?

mozilla.builds also seems be missing a description. I'll put:
For discussions about compiling the source code or improving the build system.

How about we give feedback its own section?
| Assignee | ||
Comment 19•18 years ago

- I gave feedback its own section, under Support.
- Even though bug 384869 is still not fixed, it's just a matter of waiting for those groups to be closed down; so removed them from the list, as per comment 5.

I'm not sure "automated" is the best word here... Users have to fill out a feedback form and submit to Hendrix. Hendrix just submits that feedback form to a newsgroup. Maybe there's a better way to describe it?
> :Projectwide Forums
Can we alphabetize the newsgroups under this category?
>+mozilla.community.enterprise For discussions about <a href="http://wiki.mozilla.org/Enterprise">Enterprise</a> issues.
>+mozilla.community.mozpad For discussions of the <a href="http://mozpad.org/">Mozilla Platform Application Developers</a> Community.
Should community get its own section, or do you think general development is ok?
> mozilla.dev.extensions For extension developmers.
Fix the typo (s/developmers/developers/).
> mozilla.dev.mdc.es For discussion about Spanish content on <a href="http://developer.mozilla.org/es/">Mozilla Developer Center</a>.
> mozilla.dev.mdc.pt For discussion about Portuguese content on <a href="http://developer.mozilla.org/pt/">Mozilla Developer Center</a>.
>+mozilla.dev.mdc.ja For discussions about Japanese content on <a href="http://developer.mozilla.org/ja/">Mozilla Developer Center</a>.
Order these alphabetically. Also, either remove the 's' from "discussions" or add it to the other ones.
> mozilla.dev.l10n.cs For discussion of the Czech localisation of Mozilla products.
Fix the typo (s/localisation/localization/).

Why this change? Did gen-ng-info do this, or did you?

Just get rid of the word 'automated"? (e.g. Output of Firefox feedback from <a href="http://hendrix.mozilla.org/">Hendrix</a>.)

I don't know. I don't see the difference between the community newsgroups, and dev groups.

gen-ng-info did that, and I only partially fixed it.

Yeah, that works. There's several places where it says "automated" in reference to Hendrix, so make sure you catch them all, please. Also, use http://feedback.mozilla.org/ instead of http://hendrix.mozilla.org/. It's the same thing, but I use the feedback URL on all the main pages.

Ok, whatever. If anybody complains later, then we can think about it more.

Weird. If you want to run it yourself, can you manually fix that change when it does it. If you want me to just run it on your updated raw-ng-list.txt, I can do that, too. It's up to you.

Change the description of mozilla.feedback to this:
Output of general feedback from <a href="http://feedback.mozilla.org/">Hendrix</a>.
r=reed with that change.
