Details

This bug will be used to track all changes done to fix productization issues inside l10n repositories. Changes will be committed to mozilla-aurora and merged down to l10n-central where possible. Things to be done: * Update Yahoo and eBay icons for both desktop (16px) and mobile (32px) * Remove Google Reader and other obsolete keys from region.properties * Apply whitelisted changes for Metro if not already there (further changes will need bug+approval) Outside of this bug scope (en-US): * fix en-US Creative Commons searchplugin (bug 939804) * update Bing icon for both desktop and mobile (all locales use the en-US version, locale detection is server side)

Hi flod, I wonder how http://hg.mozilla.org/l10n-central/lt/rev/866830b5e3c2 managed to qualify as something worth pushing into central without even asking the repo owner (me). I purposely never merged my migrations to aurora back into central, because I kept central "dirty", yet most localised, and aurora "clean", but with some unmaintained files (chatzilla, venkman) removed and some others (SM help) constantly copied over from en-US. Now these files are all gone/overwritten in central for no good reason. :/ Need I say I'm slightly annoyed?

I flooded dev-l10n with mails about what I was doing before even starting, asking localizers to check this bug, and stopped every time l10n-central had some activities in the last year and "hg merge" gave me results that I couldn't understand (see depending merge bugs). And there are probably going to be other occasions where we need to do this kind of mass landings, so please check dev-l10n. If you don't want me to land changes in your repository, I can file bugs and let you do it, it's up to you (but for productization bugs like this one we need patch and explicit approval, just to be clear).

I know it is tough to follow almost a 100 language repositories, but I think Pike used to maintain a list of locales that work in central. I suspect that the list of locales that work on central FIRST would mostly overlap with the list that work on central AT ALL. ;)

You can update to a previous revision, but the next commit would create a new head and you don't really want that. But there's an underlying issue: why do you keep outdated files on l10n-central? That's a repository used to build and distribute software, not just a storage folder. I'm not aware of such a list. Also: activity on central doesn't necessarily mean that all products are localized on central. To give you an example my team works on l10n-central, but Thunderbird is maintained only on mozilla-aurora. Since nobody does merges between central and aurora on merge day (if there's one thing I learned in the process, that's it), this means that changes on l10n-central would remain there.
